Dawn McIlwain

Dawn McIlwain is a Usui & Karuna Holy Fire Reiki Master and has trained in cross-cultural Shamanic practices. Dawn lives and practices in Eugene, Oregon. She believes that to be the best practitioner possible, the work needs to incorporate the entire being, body, mind, emotions and spirit. Each session includes listening, and meeting the person where they are, to tailor a session individually, which may include Reiki, Shamanic practices, meditation, mindfulness and more. The relationship with the client is part of the healing process.

As a certified Dancing Mindfulness instructor, Dawn volunteers at the Trauma Healing Project providing monthly Dancing Mindfulness classes and sharing one of her greatest 'medicines' - dancing. She is also a multi-media artist, whose art has evolved to include Reiki energy and Shamanic techniques which enliven the artwork and imbue it with healing energy.

"From the moment Reiki found me, it was a passion greater than I imagined. For many years, my healing practices were intuitive, but once I developed a deep relationship with Reiki, it was not only a healing method, but a way of life. Reiki has been tremendously transforming for me on many levels. Shamanic practices have expanded my own Spiritual realms and practices and have added another layer to my passion and the healing arts I can share with others."

Indigenous-Salvadorian born American, Patricia Cortez is a Pipil-Mayan descendent. Trinidad Mejia, her loving grandmother was a Spiritist, who introduced her to the healing arts of Curanderismo (Shamanic Practices). She immigrated to the U.S. in 1985 escaping civil war and relocated in Eugene in 1997. Patricia’s main goals in life are sharing Indigenous Practices for self-healing and guidance for awakening or strengthening Spirituality, ending oppression promoting human rights, immigrant rights and trauma healing. Her core beliefs include the notion that when we are born a council of Helping Spirits choose to be with us throughout our lives to propel our dreams and goals.

"We are all relatives and are stronger standing together than alone". That we are interconnected, dependent on each other to take care of our Mama Pacha (planet) that is our only home floating in space among the stars. She acknowledges her purpose in life is "to be at service to others by igniting the internal light some forgot they have, to spark the magic in youth, to be an empowering force to others and a student of life who learns from all of you and Nature". She is very excited about life, and embraces each day without resistance, with courage and curiosity.

It is possible to manifest the life you want to lead.
